After downloading go to your Left 4 Dead 2 game in Steam and select browse to local files. To do this go to your mod site of choice, find the mod, and download it. Steam handles everything else automatically. Once you get into the game page, just find the mod you want and subscribe to it. To do this you simply got to the community link on Steam, click on workshop, and then search for your game. The first method is using the steam workshop which is by far the easiest way.
